“Where Much is Given Much is Required”

John shares Doctrine & Covenants 82:5 “Therefore, what I say unto one I say unto all: Watch, for the adversary spreadeth his dominions, and darkness reigneth;” We can discern truth from error through the Holy Ghost. It’s so important to know who our real friends are.

Hank shares Doctrine & Covenants 82:7 “And now, verily I say unto you, I, the Lord, will not lay any sin to your charge; go your ways and sin no more; but unto that soul who sinneth shall the former sins return, saith the Lord your God.” Remember that every time we repent God forgives. We keep going because the Lord has a forgiving, loving nature.

“Great Shall Be Their Reward and Eternal Shall Be Their Glory”

Hank and John share their favorite part from this week’s followHim podcast. Some define the gospel about what you can’t do, but Doctrine & Covenants 76:40-41 defines the gospel as “glad tidings” that Jesus Christ can save all. We do not need to be perfect to come unto Christ. The correct order is we first come to Christ and then we can be perfected in Him.

“No Weapon That Is Formed Against You Shall Prosper”

Some people feel like if they didn’t, or couldn’t, serve as a young missionary they are less, and that they lost their opportunity to serve. In this episode, Dr. Wilcox returns and expounds on missionary work. He points out that the Lord has been modifying mission calls for a long time, and we don’t need to stigmatize those who come home early. Youth missions aren’t the only way to serve the Lord. He teaches us to not lose hope for those who have wandered away from the church and to never give up on them. He emphasizes Doctrine and Covenants 75:24: “…it is the duty of the church to assist in supporting the families of those…who are called and must needs be sent unto the world to proclaim the gospel unto the world.” Everyone has something they can offer to the work of the Lord.
